Arunachal Pradesh’s Pakke Paga Hornbill Festival
 The festival focuses on wildlife conservation, particularly hornbills.
 Four species of hornbills, including the endangered Rufous-necked hornbill, are found in the 
Pakke Tiger Reserve (PTR) in Arunachal Pradesh.
 The Nyishi, the largest tribal group in Arunachal Pradesh, play a signifi cant role in hornbill 
conservation.

Biopesticide
 Scientists have found a natural remedy to protect eucalyptus forest plantations from a pest, 
eucalyptus snout beetle-The pest is indigenous to Australia.
 It is a biopesticide for controlling beetle populations.
 Fungi is developed by treating insecticidal activity, UV-B radiation tolerance among other parameters 
to ensure that recovered fungi are suitable to produce bio-insecticide and mass production and 
commercialisation.
